Christmas Time...

I was laid off the end of August and with all my extra time I thought I would find more time to blog. Apparently I'm not good. I wont give up. Not sure anyone even reads my blog but for those who do I'll try to keep 'em coming!

We were not able to get a tree tag this year. It has been a family tradition to cut our own tree. Hot dog roast, hot chocolate, sleigh riding and hiking all over the mountain for the perfect tree. Well this year we supported the local tree lot and purchased our perfect tree. For much more than the $10 tree tag and it wasn't as fun but I like the tree. It's really pretty.

I love decorating for Christmas. This year we purchased new stockings. Mine is the best. Sometimes being the only girl has its benefits LOL! I also made some Popsicle stick snowflakes thanks to Pinterest and my mother-in-law purchased the blocks for all of us sister-in-laws to make. They are super cute!

Update I found a new job. I will be doing billing @ a CPA office in Spanish Fork. I don't start until Jan 2nd but it's coming fast and now I'm finding myself rushing to get everything I slacked on getting done the last few months finished, as well as finding time to Christmas shop, (which by the way we haven't even started...not one thing) LOL

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

National School Lunch Week
Brandon and I went to school to eat with Derek today for National School Lunch Week! We had so much fun. Derek was so excited that we were coming but then said Brandon was eating too slow and he wanted to go to recess...LOL...it was a fun day!

Back blogging...

So I decided it was time to start updating the blog again. So a little update:

Arlund-started a new job in June working as a machinist with his Dad. He really enjoys working there and it was a good change for our family. No more driving 3 hours a day and he his home at a decent time. It's great to have him around more.
Jo Lene-I was laid off from my job in August and I am currently looking for work. I have enjoyed being home with the boys and having a hard time wanting to go back to work lol...
Kayden-is 13 years old and in the 7th grade. He is currently playing football and really enjoys it. He is great at it too and it is so much fun and nerve racking to watch him. He will start wrestling at the end of this month.
Derek-is 10 years old and in the 4th grade. He loves school and would rather go everyday than have a day off. He is currently playing flag football and really likes it. He also likes to play basketball and will start in January.
Brandon-is 4 years old and goes to pre-school. He loves school! He has enjoyed staying home with mom as well! He loves to draw and play outside. He is at such a fun age!

Hopefully this time we can stay on top of things and keep you updated...until next post!

Happy Valentine's Day

So I was not very good at being back to blogging, but I am going to try haha! Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day. I had this awesome idea for Valentine's this year, well at least I thought it was awesome haha! The boys were really great to help me cut out the paper, punch hearts and squares and even glue them together. By 9 pm Sunday night we had everything but the robots done so I said no worries go to bed and I will finish them. Well 2 am they were all finished. Goal for next year, maybe start a little sooner, not put them off until Sunday afternoon. I was pretty impressed with them overall! Even if they took all night and the kids probably just ripped off the chocolate bar and didn't care I felt like it was a great accomplishment. Derek's class did not make boxes, they just do bags at class but Kayden was able to take a Valentine box. We made a rocket ship, also very impressed how it turned out haha!

I will be back I promise....

Hi everyone so it has been awhile sorry! Life has been crazy! I am going to try and be better at updating my blog for those out there who do care :-) Instead of trying to post everything from December to now I will just give everyone a quick update and will only be posting more current things.

I updated the boys to the right but as for Arlund and I:

Arlund-just started a new job last month with Jacobs. He absolutely loves it! The ride is probably the worse part because it's over an hour away, but he gets to van pool so he does not have to drive everyday! He is currently searching for a commuter car because he totaled his truck a few weeks ago. Luckily he was not hurt!!

Jo Lene (me)-I started a new job Jan 27th at a billing office in Orem. We do billing for out of state perinatologists (they are like one step above OB doctors, specialists.) I love my new job, soooo much better then where I spent the last 7 years of my life haha! I have really got into cake making lately. My niece and I enjoy making cakes and someday our dream is to open our own shop! :-) It can happen right?

Well hope everyone is doing well! Keep in touch and I will try to be better as well!

Ray Family Fun...

We got the whole Ray Family together, minus Alisa who lives in Texas :-( We went to the Golden Corral to eat then to Temple Square to enjoy the lights. It was a ton of fun to see everyone!

O Christmas Tree....

Every year we have the same old tradition of going up the mountains to cut down our Christmas tree. The kids go sledding and we usually bring something to eat and have hot cocoa. This year was by far the easiest year of finding the tree. We usually hike all over the mountain until we find that perfect tree. When we got out of our vehicles Arlund & my brother-in-law Russel walked around the corner and started yelling that they had found our trees. We cut them down, ate a hotdog, let the kids sled for a minute and were on our way home.....so much fun!

Derek sledding...hanging by the campfire.

Ashlie & Shelby (can you tell they are sisters)..Brandon looked like a mini version of the little boy from Christmas story....guys wait for me...haha! He was plenty bundled up!

Brandon & Dad...best buddies! Our tree (missing star on top lol) The boys always have fun decorating the tree. I thought it was going to be an interesting year with Brandon but he has not been that bad. He took a few decorations off when we were decorating it but other than that stays out of it. I made sure to get an extra pokey one haha! It will be a different story when we start putting presents under it. This is the funnest but busiest age ever!

Thanksgiving

We went to the family cabin for Thanksgiving this year! It was so much fun. I think Derek was outside playing in the snow from sun up to sun down. lol! There was over 30 of us there. The food was great! So thankful to come from a big family and be so close and lucky Arlund's family is the same way!

Brandon and Gwen playing (second cousins)

Michael, Hunter & Derek watching a movie
Kayden playing the xbox....

Impossible picture taking! Brandon and Blake are going to grow up being the best of friends. They are so fun together! Blake is a little cheeser! He loves to smile for the camera!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....

This was playing in the first snow fall the first of Nov! Derek and his friend filled a rubbermaid full of snow then dumped it over to make blocks to make a fort. When they ran out of snow in the front yard they started getting it from the back yard! haha Wish I would've taken a picture when it was finished, it was pretty impressive! Brandon thought the snow was pretty cool, whenever it snows he wants to touch it then he says ohh cold lol!
