Today is a very special day, not only did Derek start kindergarten today, but it is also his birthday! He was so excited this morning, he had a huge grin all morning. It is also my birthday today and the other day he said the cutest thing. He said how come we always celebrate my birthday on our birthday and not yours? How come we never have a party with cake and ice cream and presents for you? How cute huh! Anyways I am so proud of him!
At home before school
Derek found where he was suppose to sit and was excited to see what he had in his basket.
They had to put their name on the board of how old the were and Derek was the only 6 year old, he thought that was pretty neat. They also had name tags that they had to wear.

Impossible picture taking!!
For those of you who have kids I just want to say it seems like it is impossible to get a good picture, here is an example, there are 4 pictures and not one of them all three boys are looking at me! Arlund and I were making all sorts of noises to get Brandon to look at us and we told Kayden and Derek to just keep looking but it was impossible to get them all to look at the same time, lol! Gotta love it!
Brandon's first 4-wheeler ride
Deer
Arlund and I went for a 4-wheeler ride and we noticed this deer, he was just off the road and just sat there when we stopped right next to him. He looked up at us and gave us the quit bothering me look and then proceeded to eat. It was neat!
Then on our way home I noticed him out of the corner of my eye in the same spot, he was laying up under the porch in front of the garage at this cabin, can you see him? Funny! I also posted this picture of Arlund because I thought it was a good one, lol!
Extended Family Reunion
We went to the cabin over the weekend for Grandma Shirley's family reunion. The turn out was not as good this year as it has been in the past but we still had an enjoyable time. It was great to see family we don't often see and the food was all really yummy too!

Every year they do this guessing game where you have to guess how many candies are in the container. There were two containers to guess on. On one of them Arlund was the closest without going over and on the other I was the closest without going over, but the winner was just the closest and we both got beat! I didn't need all that candy anyways, lol! It is always a fun game to play! We look forward to it every year!

Blessing, Birthday's & Fireworks!!
I'm a week late, but we had a big weekend over the 9th of August. My sister Julie and her kids came and stayed with us Friday night because her girls had softball tournaments. It was alot of fun to watch them play. Then Saturday my niece Jacey and I spent all morning making a birthday cake for the boys. We used fondant and we were pretty proud of ourselves. I wanted to cry when it was time to cut it because it took so long to make. We went to the Salem Days parade with Julie's kids and we got so much candy it was ridiculous!
Then that afternoon we had everyone come to our house and we blessed baby Brandon! We had almost 60 people in my house, it was very crowded. Brandon cried the whole time and my dad called him Donald when he went to bless him. They were saying it was my Grandpa Montgomery there teasing us all! LOL! Then we had a BBQ, hung out, some played rock band and later had cake and ice cream and the boys got some gifts from family to open.
Because it was also Salem Days they were having fireworks at dusk. I live so close to the pond we have a great view from our backyard. We waited for what seemed like forever for them to start and then it started to pour down rain so we thought they would not do them and all started inside when we heard a big boom and the fireworks started. We stood on my deck in the pouring rain and watched, it was really neat. There was also lightning that would hit the same time a firework went off so we got a really neat show! After that Julie and her kids stayed the night again and so did my brother Curt and his family. At midnight Jacey and I went to Macey's to get breakfast stuff.
Then on Sunday afternoon we went up North to see Arlund's brother Daniel and his wife Sandy's baby. We took pictures of Blake and Brandon together and Brandon is so big, or Blake is so tiny? Ok both!!!! After visiting with them we went around the corner (literally) and saw Todd and Kiersten. Kiersten is my friend that I lived with after high school and they just moved to Utah from Arizona! When she told me her address I realized they live a block from Dan and Sandy. I am so glad to have her close again! They have 3 girls and they are just cute as ever! Then on the way home we stopped by Travis and Amy's house (Arlund's brother.) We had some yummy cake and watched the Olympics for a bit then we headed home. The next morning I got in my purse to get my keys out and found a pink binki. Megan had put her binki in my purse, lol! I was totally exhausted Monday morning, it was a long, but very fun, weekend!!
